![]() We know, rules are one of the last things you want to think about when you are ready for your next piercing. But at Classic 13 Tattoo, we follow a few important rules that ensure your safety and guarantee we provide you the highest quality experience and complete satisfaction. It is supremely important to us that we adhere to all these rules all the time, and we want to share them with you so you know the drill. There are some basic rules that all good tattoo studios follow.
Here are the key things to know:
Age Requirements Generally speaking, we can pierce any adult over the age of 18 with a valid ID (see below). However, we also pierce people ages 16 to 17 when a parent is PRESENT and both minor and parent have valid IDs, along with the birth certificate of that minor OR guardianship papers of that minor. Piercing minors without parental consent is illegal. We do not do nipple or genital piercings on any minor (consent or not). Placement of piercings in other areas is at the discretion of the artist. The only way for a minor to get tattooed or pierced is that a parent MUST BE PRESENT and both minor and parents MUST have valid IDs (see below), along with the birth certificate of that minor OR guardianship papers of that minor. Identification Requirements In order to get a piercing at Classic 13 Tattoo, we need to see some ID. It’s the law. Your identification must be current (not expired) and you must present it at the beginning of your appointment. Acceptable forms of valid ID include:
Sterilization and Infection control Cleanliness is our top priority when it comes to offering excellent piercings. We are rigorous and relentless in our adherence to the highest standards of hygiene and infection control. Whenever possible, the materials and equipment involved in the piercing process is single use and disposable. That means it was brand new, never used and sterilized when used on you and then it is disposed of in a Sharps container immediately after your piercing. This includes piercing needles. A few pieces of equipment that may need to be reused and is always first disinfected using a high-quality disinfectant, processed through an ultrasonic-cleaner, placed in a sterilization pouch and processed in a steam autoclave sterilizer. These sterilizers are the same ones used in hospitals and other medical offices to sterilize equipment. We also disinfect our piercing room each day and all work surfaces between every client. Rest assured we take every precaution to ensure that your piercing is done in the cleanest and safest environment possible. Drugs and Alcohol It's illegal to tattoo/pierce anyone who is believed to be under the influence. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who is thought to be under the influence. We will, however, welcome you back when you are running properly on all cylinders. |
